Summary/Objective: This position works under the umbrella of the Human Resources Department and requires the ability to work collaboratively with the payroll department, and various departments within the Company, while having the latitude to work independently.
Oversee the onboarding and orientation program
Assist in maintenance of employee information in HRIS system
Review all employee termination paperwork
Assist in health benefit administration
Counsels, advises and provides guidance to supervisors and employees
Assist in the development and presentation of HR policies
Ability to assist in responding to inquiries by employees on benefits, payroll, or general HR-related questions
Responds to inquiries from authorized third parties regarding employment verifications and unemployment inquires
Assist in the administration of employee benefits (Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, 401k, and COBRA). This includes enrollments and claims resolution
Assist in the training and overseeing of new HR team members
Work with the training department to coordinate required employee training
Assist with workers compensation administration
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, HR, or related field.
PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
Knowledge of general HR practices, Wage & Hour laws, and general benefit administration.
Maintains confidentiality within HR Department
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual/English/Spanish fluency a plus)
Ability to translate (English to Spanish and vice versa) Company letters and documents
Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Must be personable, professional, and approachable.
2-4 years in a HR Assistant or HR Generalist role.
