Vision Operator

Summary/Objective: A vision operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the inspection and quality control of products. Their main objective is to ensure that products meet the required quality standards and specifications by using vision systems to identify any defects or deviations in the production process. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret and analyze data obtained from the vision systems. The vision operator also plays a crucial role in troubleshooting any issues with the equipment and performing routine maintenance to ensure that the systems are functioning at optimal levels. Overall, the vision operator’s goal is to ensure the quality and consistency of the products being produced while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Operate and monitor computer-controlled vision inspection systems to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications
  • Identify and document product defects, communicate with production team members, and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of vision inspection equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Calibrate vision inspection systems according to manufacturer specifications and quality control procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency
  • Accurately record inspection data and complete necessary paperwork or computer-based documentation
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve product quality issues
  • Participate in new product development and launch activities, including developing and testing new inspection protocols
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in vision inspection systems and recommend updates or upgrades to equipment as necessary
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed

Compensation Range:

  • $17.50 – $18.00 per hour
