A sales assistant is responsible for supporting the sales team in achieving their targets and ensuring the smooth running of the sales department. The role involves administrative tasks, customer service, and communication with clients. The objective is to provide effective support to the sales team, improve the customer experience, and contribute to the overall success of the company. Sales assistants are expected to be proactive, organized, and have excellent communication skills to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. They should also have strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively with the sales team to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the sales team with administrative tasks, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining records
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person providing excellent customer service
  • Assist with the preparation of sales presentations and proposals including formatting documents and creating charts and graphs
  • Coordinate with other departments such as finance to ensure proper collection and payment of invoices
  • Manage inventory and stock levels to ensure that products are available for sale
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of orders including generating invoices and tracking shipments
  • Monitor sales metrics and produce reports on sales performance
  • Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and gather competitive intelligence
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of events such as trade shows and product launches
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, industry trends, and competitors to ensure effective communication with customers and the sales team


  • Proven work experience as a sales assistant or similar role
  • Proficient in MS Office, with working knowledge of CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Focus on Accounts Receivable and Account Payable functions
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or relevant field is preferred

Compensation Range:

  • $24.000 – $28.00 per hour
