Maintenance Mechanic – PM Shift

Summary/Objective: This position will be responsible for preventive maintenance and repairing of equipment, machinery, as well as all other systems associated with a packing facility such as electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance and repair
Essential Functions:
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems, making necessary repairs or adjustments to machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating, cleaning, and replacing parts to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime and production disruptions.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks.
- Document maintenance and repair activities including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition, in maintenance logs or computerized systems.
- Conduct tests and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively, following proper procedures and guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and technologies related to maintenance practices, participating in training programs or workshops as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical degree or certification in mechanical maintenance or related field preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical and welding experience is a plus.
- Forklift and aerial device knowledge.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Valid drivers license.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Compensation Range:
- $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
