Summary/Objective: Helps organize preparation of all food menu plans. Plans accordingly and coordinates with executive chef.
Classification: Non-Exempt Full Time Position Mon-Fri 7 am – 3:30 pm
Help in the preparation of all food menu items
Weekly kitchen planning with executive chef
Ability to cook independently
Knowledge of cooking techniques (Sautee, grill, roast, sauces etc.)
Friendly and cooperative attitude: daily interaction with entire upper management
Ensure kitchen operates in an orderly way so food service is on time and sufficient
Prep, cook serve food as well as cleaning the kitchen (washing dishes, mopping and sweeping floors, operating the dish washer deep cleaning of all the kitchen equipment)
Notifying executive chef of any arising problems or issues pertaining to the kitchen, lunch service or any other staff members
Ensure lunch service runs smoothly
Helps with the monthly inventory
Must have a food handler card
One year of experience with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition or related field.
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Spanish Speaking Highly recommended, but not required
